Mexican citizens can obtain a 180-day, multiple-entry visa on arrival, provided they present airplane tickets, health insurance, and a hotel reservation. As previously mentioned, a passport with a minimum of six months of validity remaining is also required for application.
Indian passport holders have distinct regulations. If you are one, you can secure a 14-day visa on arrival only if you can provide one of the following:
- A USA-issued visit visa with a minimum validity of six months.
- A USA-issued green card with a minimum validity of six months.
- – Evidence of holding a UK or EU residence.
Obtaining this visa will cost you AED 120, approximately equivalent to USD 33.
In case you’re an Indian passport holder without any of the aforementioned documents, you will be required to request a prearranged tourist visa.
Visa Options for Tourists in the UAE: Prearranged Tourist Visas
If your nation is not included in the list mentioned earlier, you will be required to request a pre-arranged tourist visa. Various options are available, depending on your intended duration of stay in the UAE. However, it’s crucial to ensure your passport has a minimum of three months of validity remaining.
To apply for a prearranged visa, you will need:
– A colour copy of your passport;
– A colour photograph of yourself;
– An application form
– A copy of your plane ticket
A non-extendable 48-hour visa costs USD 10, while a 96-hour visa is priced at USD 30. Alternatively, a single-entry, short-term tourist visa is available for USD 90 and can be extended if needed, with an extension fee of USD 230.
Another option is to apply for a short-term, multiple-entry visa priced at USD 175, offering a 30-day validity. If necessary, this visa can be extended for USD 230.
Alternatively, if you plan to have an extended stay in the UAE, you have the option to apply for a long-term tourist visa. The single-entry and multiple-entry visas, each granting a 90-day stay, are priced at USD 190 and USD 460, respectively. Extensions for these visas are also possible, with an additional fee of USD 230.
For individuals originating from Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, or Iran, additional documentation such as a National ID card may be required.
One-Year Remote Work Visa Option
The UAE introduced a remote working visa program last year, enabling digital nomads who shifted to remote work due to the pandemic to work from the UAE.
Both foreign employees and foreign business owners are eligible to apply for this visa program. In principle, this visa is accessible to passport holders from all nations.
Before the implementation of this visa program, spending an extended period in the UAE typically required sponsorship by an Emirati national or securing employment within the country. This visa program eliminates those hurdles, expanding access to the UAE for a significantly broader segment of foreign workers.
Regrettably, the one-year remote working visa program does not facilitate the establishment of a business in the UAE. Therefore, if your objective is to start a business in the country, this particular visa may not align with your goals.
On the other hand, if you’re interested in experiencing an extended stay in the UAE before making a decision about establishing your business there, this visa program could serve as a valuable option.

The application fee for the remote working visa is USD 287, and there are additional expenses for UAE health insurance and ID fees, which can vary. Altogether, you can anticipate spending over USD 600.
To apply for this visa, you must possess a passport with a minimum of six months of validity and secure UAE health insurance.
Employees will also need to present the following:

- A work contract no shorter than a year
- Proof of a salary no less than USD 5,000/month

- Proof of business ownership of no less than one year
